All global corporations must budget security resources and appropriate those funds based on actual need and the critical nature of the mission. Traditionally, security has been viewed as an expense, and not a benefit to the firm. Responsible security management must now think and act as businessmen and women to count the cost in relation to the level of threat and risk.
Through the TRA process, we can assist the client to identify areas of vulnerability, cost-effective ways to mitigate these issues, and give them a five year plan to deal with site security. A threat and risk rating system gives the client the facts and figures they need to "sell" security programs within their organization and more importantly, obtain the required budgets to be effective.
The TRA process begins with personal interviews with staff and management and progresses to a physical inspection of the premises. Locks, windows, doors, building materials, security guarding, electronic security, command and control, and a host of security practices and issues are examined in-depth. The final report details threats, risks and vulnerabilities, with recommendations and ranking of suggested mitigation elements. This report generally serves as a five year plan for improvement of the security function. |
