Joseph A. Zaccaria, CPP

Joseph A. Zaccaria, CPP is an American national with Permanent Resident status in Canada. He previously lived and worked in Asia for 10 years. He has managed large security design, planning and assessment projects on behalf of multinational corporate clients, while based in Bangkok, Thailand. He also managed projects in Malaysia, Singapore, mainland China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Korea, and elsewhere around the world. He is skilled in dealing with the security challenges of the Third World, and operating within a framework of cultural diversity. He understands the problems of industry when faced with international expansion efforts, and is very much aware of current international security threats.

He has over 20 years experience public security, crime prevention, physical security, security design, and health care finance issues. He is a graduate of the US Department of Veterans Affairs Management Training, LEAP police training, and forensic science at the Community College of Rhode Island. He is certified on a practitioner level with LENEL Access Control and Alarm Monitoring Systems, and Risk Watch, a data-driven security risk assessment software tool. Mr. Zaccaria has attended the US National Crime Prevention Institute, where he received a certificate in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).

As Asia MD and then International Managing Director for Consulting for a large global consulting firm, Mr. Zaccaria was responsible for performing Risk Assessments, managing Proprietary Information Protection programs, Holistic Security Consulting and CPTED design project work internationally. As a CPTED professional, he works with project planners, managers and architects to facilitate the development of CPTED-centered architectural security building design programs. His design projects have included Semiconductor Fabrication, Stock Exchange, Banking & Financial, Healthcare, Retail Superstores, Corporate HQ, and other business environments.
